Generous donation for town’s lifesavers

by Terry Bearpark

The Tower Littlewood lodge of the RAOB has continued its support of Withernsea’s inshore lifeboat with a donation of £600.

It was made at last Sunday’s weekly meeting of the Buffs at their base at the Pier Hotel in Withernsea.

Making the presentation to Darren Hickey, lifeboat operations manager, John Hartland, water safety adviser, and RNLI training co-ordinator Sean Bell, Worthy Primo Ian Grantham said the lodge had a long relationship with the lifeboat through its support and donations and were very pleased to continue it.

In reply, Darren thanked the RAOB for their latest donation, which will help maintain lifeboat operations, and said the RNLI would be forever grateful for the support given in the past.
