Members of a Lifestyle team were in for a great surprise last Sunday when they visited the Tower Littlewood Lodge of the RAOB thinking they would receive a small donation.
However, they were amazed not only to be presented with a cheque for £100 towards their fundraising but also with a portable defibrillator.
The Patrington Mini Medics, Harvey Ralph, Millie Jones, Amber Stephenson and Felix Forman originally set out to raise £300 to fund two defibrillator training sessions at the village hall but thanks to hard work and enthusiasm the total has passed the £1,500 mark.
The Buffs said how impressed they were with the Lifestylers’ quest to help the community, especially with the training sessions, and wished them well in their venture. They are giving up their summer holiday by raising cash not only for the training sessions but also to provide first aid packs for local schools.
They have been holding twice-weekly cake bake stalls as well as litter picking and also visiting the Queen’s Residential home in Withernsea to organise a bingo session and quiz for residents.
The foursome are planning a car boot sale and a sponsored bike ride as well as continuing their cake stalls.
