An online survey asking residents about any concerns they may have about crime where they live has been launched with an accompanying QR code.
The Not In My Town initiative was started by Hornsea deputy mayor Cllr Nick Cox earlier this year, and backed by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
The group was set up to be part of a framework to enable the police, Hornsea Town Council, local businesses, the community and relevant agencies to work together to show that criminality and antisocial behaviour is not accepted in our towns and villages.
Branded stickers and posters are already up around Hornsea, and moves to roll Not In My Town out across Holderness and the wider area are in place, with Withernsea Town Council already onboard.
A short survey is now available to complete to ask residents what they think.
Cllr Cox said: “As part of the process I have developed a short survey, and I would appreciate it if residents would complete it.
“This is strictly a private survey, and is not published by the police.
“I want to ensure that the local community and local policing team are on the same page with regard to operational objectives.
“Across the Humberside Police region, the force operates under a structured set of community objectives, driven by local intelligence initiatives like Humber Talking.
“This is a great initiative, but I would like a more focused approach to our town.
“What do everyday residents actually care about? What are their concerns? What is being done right, and what do you think is being done wrong?
“I will be meeting with our local policing team to discuss the results, then I will feedback to residents.
“Please note if you live in the outlying villages please feel free to complete it and add in the comments that you live in a local village.”
