Appeal for witnesses after woman, 74, seriously hurt in crash near Hedon

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 74-year-old woman was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on the A1033 near Hedon.

Emergency services were called to the collision at around 8am on Wednesday, March 4, on the A1033 between the Saltend roundabout and the B1262 roundabout.

Police said a blue Vauxhall Meriva was travelling eastbound towards Hedon when it is believed to have collided with a white Vauxhall Corsa travelling westbound towards Hull.

A short time later, the Meriva is then believed to have collided with a black Mercedes, also travelling westbound towards Hull, causing the Mercedes to leave the carriageway and come to rest in a hedge.

The driver of the Vauxhall Meriva, a 74-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 31-year-old woman, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Police are now appealing for information following the crash.

Anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage, or who may have seen the vehicles before or at the time of the collision, is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting log 63 of March 4.
