Ruby Reds return for Christmas charity show

Oct 27, 2026

by Sam Hawcroft

The newly reformed Ruby Reds are set to make their debut in a Christmas variety show raising money for Withernsea community group Townsmart.

Ruby’s Christmas Cracker takes place on December 5 and 6, bringing together Ruby’s Dancercise, local singers, dancers and guest performers for a weekend of festive entertainment.

The show marks a new chapter for the Ruby Reds, whose previous line-up reached the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2015.

The 12 performers won four “yes” votes from the judges, and group leader Lorraine Courtney has since brought together a new cohort of members.

Plans to reform the troupe were announced to mark the 10th anniversary of their television appearance, with the aim of performing at local events and supporting community causes.

Now, the cast are working hard on a show they hope will raise as much as possible for Townsmart.

Lorraine said: “We’re all putting a lot of hard work into making this a really good show, and our main aim is to raise as much money as possible for Townsmart so they can continue their valuable work in our community.”

Further details about the performers, ticket prices and what audiences can expect will be announced nearer the time.
