LET’S GO Hornsea is launching a new community awards scheme to celebrate the valued voluntary work of local people.

It aims to recognise the hours of valuable work put in by ordinary members of the public whose voluntary contributions to the community help make the town tick. The awards are all about saying thank you to those who have given their time freely to help to improve the community.

An awards ceremony will take place on February 22, 2020, organised by the Let’s Go Hornsea regeneration group and sponsored by Longbeach Leisure Park. The awards will celebrate the achievements of these people who will be nominated by the public and include the contribution of young people too.

Public nominations will be shortlisted by members of Let’s Go Hornsea before the judging panel consisting of the sponsors and Let’s Go Hornsea members will choose the winners.”

“The People’s Choice Award will not be chosen by a panel of judges but by the general public and it will be the person or group that receives the most votes with the winner announced at the awards evening by event sponsor Longbeach Leisure Park,” explained a Let’s Go Hornsea spokesperson.

The awards evening will be held at Hornsea Golf Club with tickets on sale at The Townhouse and at the Wellbeing Studio in Hornsea Market Place.

The categories are:

People’s Choice Sponsored by Longbeach Leisure Park

The public has a chance to vote for their choice of a person or group who have made a difference to the people of Hornsea or brought Hornsea to the public’s attention in a positive way.
