Withernsea Veterans

ready to take the stage

WITHERNSEA Rugby Union Football Club will hold their Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Plough Inn, Hollym, on Saturday, April 27.

As is now customary, the club will be hosting an ‘Old Heads’ brown shorts game which includes past veteran players and current club players with the kick off at 1pm.

The game is always played in a great spirit following the RFU’s ethos of RESPECT and matches last about 30 minutes per half with unlimited substitutions.

The photograph on the right was taken at last year’s event and shows Withernsea Veterans Stan Shield, Mick Moor (Head Groundsman), Larry Malkin (Discipline Officer) and Steve Brown (Club President) with a combined age of over 270 years old!

Any ex-players or associates of Withernsea RUFC who wish to play are more than welcome to come along and join in the fun.

Hopefully the spring sunshine will make an appearance and everyone present can enjoy the day and light refreshments will be available.
