Sea Angling

WELL MOTHER Nature looked down favourably on Sunday for match 4 for members of the Commercial Sea Angling Club with a calm sea, very little wind and hopefully some fish!

Catches where still patchy and weed was a bit of a pain in places for a while. Good numbers of whiting were obliging with a smattering of dabs and dogfish, surprisingly, only one cod was brought to the scales.

Winner on the day was Kev Hewitt who resorted to his old haunt of last year and returned with a great bag of 25 fish for 6.685kg. Kev also thought he had the biggest fish of the day, however, after playing it carefully for some time it turned out to be a ‘lesser spotted carrier bag’ full of water! I’m sure it would have been undersize anyway Kev.

Biggest fish and the captor of the solitary cod went to Paul Banks with a fish of 1.6kg.

The juniors had a reasonable day with a few fish and the winner turned out to be Taylor Fisk with 9 fish for 2.625kg, runner-up was Fynnley Marshall with 6 fish for 1.54kg, third Harvey Butler (4 fish 1.265kg) and fourth was Kai Fisk with 2 fish for 0.61kg.
