FUTURE STARS: AFC Preston U8s at St Mary’s

AFC Preston have three junior teams at the moment and in the future, many of the girls currently learning the art and skills of the game are likely to feature for AFC Preston Ladies, who are also an excellent team.
The girls all train at South Holderness every Monday night and although they have not been playing football as a team for that long, the improvement being shown on the pitch through all three junior sides is tremendous, with the club’s coaching staff doing a fantastic job with the girls.
The under 8s (Pictured left) competed in a tournament at St Mary’s College last Saturday and they played some great football and scored some excellent goals. Player of the day was Nina and everyone had a great time.
Meanwhile The under 12s started a nine-a-side game away against Costello Crocodiles last Saturday with just seven players and they put in a truly remarkable effort against a team with 14 players, allowing them to substitute players on and off every 10 minutes.
According to manager Rich Brown, the girls were outstanding, they worked their socks off and he was rightfully very proud of their performance and efforts and had they had a full squad, the girls most likely would have recorded a victory.
