Marie Curie can help you keep
your New Year’s resolution

MARIE CURIE has pledged to help people from across Yorkshire to fulfil their New Year’s resolution with its Hornsea Rotary One Third Marathon.

Whether your goal is to get fit, lose weight, meet new people or do something adventurous for charity in 2020, Marie Curie is offering everyone a challenge to help you meet your goals.

The Rotary Club of Hornsea and East Riding will hold the annual Hornsea Rotary One Third Marathon National Championship on Sunday, April 5, 2020 for the 13th year running.

As well as being fully recognised by England Athletics, this event has a proven track record of raising substantial funds for Marie Curie over the years, frequently attracting more than 400 runners from all over the country to take on the 8.76-mile running challenge.

In 2019, the event was the Rotary Club’s largest single fundraiser of the year, bringing in over £4,000 for Marie Curie. Hundreds of spectators lined the country lanes to support the runners along the entire route.

Marie Curie Community Fundraiser, Kelly Maton, said: “New Year’s resolutions often fall by the wayside before January is over, but Marie Curie’s event will help you stick to and achieve your aims for 2020. Whether you want to improve your fitness, have fun, get outdoors or meet like-minded people, it promises to offer all of that against a backdrop of stunning scenery.

“So why not take up a challenge, fulfil your ambitions and help raise vital valuable funds for Marie Curie Nurses, who provide free care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes.”

By tackling this challenge you’ll help more people living with a terminal illness to get the care and support they need. For more information or to sign up please visit https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/ get-involved/charity-events/running/ hornseathird.
